Scientific Theories and Hypotheses

The following theories and hypotheses will be proposed, tested and used for explaining the main causes and potential consequences of glacier changes in the Franz Josef Land archipelago:

Some other effects and specific hypotheses concerning the evolution of arctic glaciation, such as changes in main trajectories of moisture advection, variations in warm-water inflow into the Barents Sea, impacts of marine abrasion, storm surges, tides, currents, water freshening and geothermal effects on glacier (hydro) mechanics, emergence of several new islets formerly attached to the larger lands by glaciers, etc. will be studied as well.
